One thing I quickly realized is that the success of an event many times comes down to the quality of the speakers. If they hit it out of the park, it is usually a great event. If they don’t, well … it is usually a not-so-great event.

We know this to be true. Whether it is an event for students, a training for leaders, or a conference setting, getting the right speaker and making sure they’re a quality speaker is really important.

In addition to serving as a Youth Pastor for almost 20 years, I also worked as a teen director for a large non-profit for several years overseeing day camps, summer camps, and teen programs for hundreds of teens, training numerous staff, and recruiting countless volunteers.

I help equip and encourage Youth Pastors and leaders through my blog and podcast The Longer Haul. My passion is helping Youth Pastors create a ministry of longevity that they truly love.

I am the grateful husband of Sarah and the dad of Emma, Anna, Lizzy, and Jack. I am a speaker, lover of vintage VW’s, and the owner of one “mostly white” VW Beetle.

I speak on a variety of topics including recruiting volunteers, partnering with parents, ministering to hurting students, longevity in youth ministry, as well as preaching from biblical texts, and more.
