An Honest Confession

Honest confessionI love Youth Ministry. I am honored to be a Youth Pastor and to serve who I serve and where I serve.  There are some things though that I personally often leave unsaid.

I think this is probably true for most of us and I hope that you will relate to some of these things. Here are a ten things I struggle with personally:

1. If I had known what ministry was really like, I would have fought this calling more

2. The weight of the responsibility and the mess of ministry often leaves me feeling overwhelmed

3. I have a difficult time shutting my brain off when it comes to the day-to-day needs of ministry

4. I lose sleep over mess I know students are dealing with

5. I need help with many areas of my ministry, but have a hard time seeing where I need it most

6. Sometimes I have a hard time reading Scripture without outlining it in my head to teach it

7. I sometimes find it hard to stay focused on one task knowing all of the things that need to be done

8. I struggle with always analyzing every aspect of our ministry and what we could do better

9. I have a hard time being content with where we are as a ministry

10. My greatest fear is failure so I overcompensate to make sure I do not.

Now it is your turn. What about you? Which can you relate to most? Leave a comment below and let me know.
